Following are some general guidelines for the Furry4Life (F4L) community.
Furry4Life (F4L)does not intend to censor messages based on the opinions expressed within posts, but will enforce the policies outlined here on profiles, galleries, chat, discussions and forums. F4L reserves the right to remove, modify or move posts upon discretion and without explanation. Please contact the F4L team if you do not understand any of the rules, guidelines or policies outlined below.
A status of Freeze, Suspension or Removal (Banned Member) of your profile is a definite and direct consequence of not adhering to these guidelines. In addition to the rules posted here, by being a member of this community you agree to read any individual forum rules, Terms Of Service and other policies that are posted at the top or in the tabs of specific forums.
By using this network, you further agree to abide by all of the polices set forth by Furry4Life and the Ning Network Terms of Service.
Furry4Life Moderators, Administrators and Community Leaders will assume members have read said terms and will not take ignorance of any rules as an excuse for not following the rules, policies, and guidelines outlined here and/or in the forum specific rules.
General Guidelines
F4L takes the "Be Polite" rule very seriously. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive and participates in the following can be banned without warning:
F4L welcomes constructive feedback, but will not tolerate excessive public posts offending or harassing the Furry4Life Moderators, Administrators and Community Leaders.
Keep feedback civil. F4L reserves the right to remove public posts debating these rules and/or moderators' enforcement of such without comment. Feedback on F4L is encouraged and you are invited to contact the team if you have any questions or concerns.
F4L reserves the right to modify and amend these terms at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to remain informed of current Furry4Life and Ning Network policies. Further F4L reserves the right to disable any account at any time for any reason and without notice. If there are any rules or policies you do not understand, please contact a team member for clarification.
Finally, any abuse towards the Furry4Life team, in any form, may result in immediate suspension or a freeze of your account.
Mature Content Policy
Any material uploaded to Furry4Life must follow these guidelines.
Users should be aware that Content found not following these guidelines will be subject to deletion immediately. Content that is not allowed:
Pornographic; Contain nudity intended to sexually arouse the viewer; Unlawful; Harmful; Threatening; Abusive; Harassing; Defamatory; Libelous; Invasive of another's privacy; Harms minors in any way; Fetishes; Generally Offensive.
Any images or videos reported and/or found not following these guidelines will be reviewed and appropriate action will be taken with or without notice given to the user. This policy includes, but is not limited to, User Icons, Gallery Images, Profile Content, Wall Posts, Group Posts, Forum Posts and Links in the Chat Room. Continued abuse may result in a Freeze, Suspension or Removal from the network on the user's account.

Art Policy
The Furry Fandom relies heavily on it's artists. They are the ones that bring our characters and creations to life, weather it be visually, or by a craft like fursuit design. When you use art from an artist that you did not pay for or receive as a commission, gift, trade, request, or permission, you are stealing that artwork.
When you upload artwork, you are agreeing to the fact that you have the right to upload said art work. This includes and is not limited to instances where you credit yourself, claim that you are the owner of the art or the characters in the art, or claim that the art represents who you are, fursuit images.
In instances where art theft is suspected, the users involved, and artists will be contacted to solve the issue. If found that a user does not have permission to use the artwork, the artwork will be removed and the user will be notified.
If asked, a lot of artists will agree to let you use art in forums like this, it is free marketing for them and helps them generate business. So you may be pleasantly surprised when asking for permission! Don't be afraid to do so. After getting permission, they may forget to ask you to give them credit... So always credit the artist, and give users a link to the artist in your profile or within the description of the image. They are being generous in letting you use their work, so help them out!
This is something Furries take very seriously. Art theft will not be tolerated.
Photo Galleries
The same goes for art posted in Photo Galleries too! If an artist claims that you uploaded artwork that you do not own to your F4L gallery, it will be removed. Remember, F4L, while art is allowed, is not an art gallery.
Digital Millennium Copyright Act Policy
"Furry4Life" is an Online Service Provider under Title II of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. Section 512 ("DMCA"). "Furry4Life" respects the legitimate rights of copyright owners, and has adopted an efficient notice and take down procedure as required by the DMCA and described herein. This policy is intended to guide copyright owners in utilizing that procedure, and also to guide webmasters in restoring access to websites that are disabled due to mistake. Chat Room Abuse
You agree to our Terms of Service when you apply to be a member here on Furry4Life. Members must be at least 13 years of age or older. Abusive, Sexual, Harassing, Profane (including intentional misspellings of profane language), Racist, Violent, Dysphemistic, Idiomatic, Emphatic, Cathartic and Negitive Language WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the chat room.
If a moderator or administrator sees you using language as described above, they will warn you by asking you to stop. Continued abuse of this rule may result in moderation anywhere from a ban in the chat room or suspending your account indefinitly.
Private Messages
While Private Messages are not moderated, this does not mean that anything goes. Please bear in mind the rules on this site when talking to other members privately. Valid Proof of any Chat Room Abuse will result in a warning. Continued Chat Room Abuse may subject your account to moderation.
Chat Room Moderators/Administrators
Furry4Life has a number of Moderators and Administrators. One of the tasks is to make sure everyone is comfortable in the chat room. The actions of the Moderators and Administrators to ensure the comfort of everyone in the chat room is not subject to debate. If you feel their decisions or actions may be incorrect, send a message to the site creator.
Harassing a Moderator or an Administrator for a moderation task they have performed in the chat room, or for any other issue, could result in a chat room ban up to 24hours, or an account ban.
Spamming
Spamming the chat room is not tolerated. If a moderator or administrator sees you spamming the chat they will warn you by asking you to stop. Continued abuse of this policy may result in moderation anywhere from a ban in the chat room or suspending your account indefinitely.
Chat bans and account freezes
The chat bans last a minimum of 4 hours, and a max of 24hours. You may still be able to interact with the website, however, if you indicate further abuse of site policies in other parts of Furry4Life, a moderator or administrator may freeze your account. Account freezes may last a minimum of one hour to as long as two weeks.
This policy is for you and your comfort in the chat room. It was created by the F4L Community and the Staff. Please be sure to follow it!
Proprietary Rights in Content on Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks).
Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) does not claim any ownership rights in the text, files, images, photos, video, sounds, musical works, works of authorship, applications, or any other materials (collectively, "Content") that you transmit, submit, display or publish (“post”) on, through or in connection with the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Network Services. After posting your Content on, through or in connection with the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services, you continue to retain any such rights that you may have in your Content, subject to the limited license herein. Despite this prohibition, information, materials, products or services provided by other Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Members (for instance, in their profiles) or Linked Services may, in whole or in part, be unauthorized, impermissible or otherwise violate this Agreement, and Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) assumes no responsibility or liability for this material. If you become aware of misuse of the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services by any person or Linked Service, please click on the "Contact Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks)” or the “Report Abuse” link at the bottom of the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Website pages.

-for band, comedy, filmmaker and other profiles, uses sexually suggestive imagery or any unfair, misleading or deceptive Content intended to draw traffic to the profile; or
-violates or attempts to violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, trademark rights, contract rights or any other rights of any person.
The following are examples of the kind of activity that is illegal or prohibited on the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Website and through your use of the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services. Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks)'s sole discretion, violates this provision, including, without limitation, terminating your Membership and/or reporting such activity or Content to law enforcement authorities. Prohibited activity includes, but is not limited to:
-criminal or tortious activity, including, but not limited to, child pornography, fraud, trafficking in obscene material, drug dealing, gambling, harassment, defamation, stalking, spamming, spimming, sendingof viruses or other harmful files, copyright infringement, patent infringement, or theft of trade secrets;
-advertising to, or solicitation of, any Member to buy or sell any products or services through the unauthorized or impermissible use of the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services. You may not transmit any chain letters or junk email to other Members. In order to protect our Members from such advertising or solicitation, Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) reserves the right to restrict the number of emails which a Member may send to other Members in any 24-hour period to a number which Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) deems appropriate in its sole discretion. If you breach this Agreement and send or cause to send (directly or indirectly) unsolicited bulk messages, status or mood updates, bulletins or other unauthorized commercial communications of any kind through the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services, you acknowledge that you will have caused substantial harm to Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks), but that the amount of such harm would be extremely difficult to ascertain. Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) reserves the right to take legal action against you and freezing your account indefinitely.
-circumventing or modifying, attempting to circumvent or modify, or encouraging or assisting any other person in circumventing or modifying any security technology or software that is part of the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services;
-activity that involves the use of viruses, bots, worms, or any other computer code, files or programs that interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware, or otherwise permit the unauthorized use of or access to a computer or a computer network;
-modifying, copying, distributing, downloading, scraping or transmitting in any form or by any means, in whole or in part, any Content from the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services other than your Content which you legally post on, through or in connection with the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services;
-providing or using “tracking” or monitoring functionality in connection with the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services, including, without limitation, to identify other Users’ views, actions or other activities on the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services;
-covering or obscuring the banner advertisements and/or safety features (e.g., report abuse button) on your personal profile page, or any Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) page via HTML/CSS or any other means;
-any automated use of the system, such as, but not limited to, using scripts to add friends or send comments, messages, status or mood updates, blogs or bulletins;
-interfering with, disrupting, or creating an undue burden on the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services or the networks or services connected to the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services;
-impersonating or attempting to impersonate Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) or a Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) employee, administrator or moderator, another Member, or person or entity (including, without limitation, the use of email addresses associated with or of any of the foregoing);
-using the account, username, or password of another Member at any time or disclosing your password to any third party or permitting any third party to access your account;
-selling or otherwise transferring your profile, your email address or URL;
-using or distributing any information obtained from the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services in order to harass, abuse, or harm another person or entity, or attempting to do the same;
-displaying an unauthorized commercial advertisement on your profile, or accepting payment or anything of value from a third person in exchange for your performing any commercial activity through the unauthorized or impermissible use of the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services on behalf of that person, such as placing commercial content on your profile, links to e-commerce sites not authorized by Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks), posting status or mood updates, blogs or bulletins with a commercial purpose, selecting a profile with a commercial purpose as one of your top friends, or sending messages with a commercial purpose;
-relaying email from a third party's mail servers without the permission of that third party;
-using invalid or forged headers to disguise the origin of any Content transmitted to or through Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks)’s computer systems, or otherwise misrepresenting yourself or the source of any message or Content;
-using any automated system, including, but not limited to, scripts or bots in order to harvest email addresses or other data from the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Website for the purposes of sending unsolicited or unauthorized material;
-engaging in, either directly or indirectly, or encouraging others to engage in, click-throughs generated through any manner that could be reasonably interpreted as coercive, incentivized, misleading, malicious, or otherwise fraudulent; or using the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services in a manner inconsistent with any and all Applicable Law.

Protecting Copyrights and Other Intellectual Property. Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) respects the intellectual property of others, and requires that our users do the same. You may not upload, embed, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any material that infringes any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary rights of any person or entity. It is Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks)’s policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the membership of repeat infringers.
If you believe your work has been copied and posted on or through the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks)'s Creator or one of the Administrators a notification of claimed infringement with all of the following information: (a) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works; (b) identification of the claimed infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material on the Furry4Life (SocialFurryNetworks) Services (providing the URL(s) of the claimed infringing material satisfies this requirement); (c) information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an email address; (d) a statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; (e) a statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that the above information in your notification is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf; and (f) your physical or electronic signature.
